Top Moldings of Entablature - cont -

The Bedmolding is the lowest member of a cornice. This bedmolding has, from the bottom, a cavetto, a fillet, an ovolo carved with egg and dart, a fascia, a cavetto, and a fillet. Regularly spaced rectangular elements called blocks project in front of the top three moldings from the soffit of the corona, above. The cavetto and fillet ornament the tops of the three sides of the blocks as well.

The Corona is the central member of a proper cornice. In this case, the corona, which has a single flat molding, called a fascia, is the top molding of the order.
