Plaque with Banded Bay Leaf Garland
Vertical blocks at either end of the plaque and centered over the columns below are ornamented with rings suspending short bay-leaf swags.
The Banded Bay Leaf Garland is an ornament applied to broad convex moldings, sometimes half round but here only slightly convex, formed of rows of bay leaves (also called laurel leaves), often as here with bay berries, wrapped with crossing bands or ribbons.
