Bull’s Head Market, East 24th Street, 1901
View of stables on the south side of 24th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues. With the decline of the horse trade, many of these stables were converted to automobile garages in the 1920s and 1930s. Several were demolished to make way for the Madison Square Post Office, completed in 1937.
